If you work for a company that matches gifts, having your employer match your donation is a wonderful way to increase your impact.
Gifts for Kids was started in 1990 by Pat McDougal to ease the financial burden during the holiday season for children identified by human service providers in Norfolk County and surrounding communities.
That first year 25 children were identified by the Department of Social Services and received gifts, books, and clothing during the winter holiday season. The program was so successful and the recipients so grateful that the second year 125 children were sponsored. Each subsequent year a new social service agency was added and the number of children served by Gifts for Kids increased.
Now, Gifts for Kids provides holiday support to more than 1,200 children annually through generous donors, classroom gift drives in more than 100 classrooms, and grants and funding from local organizations.
Gifts for Kids, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers. This means all donations go directly to children in need. All donations are tax deductible.
Thank you so much for helping me and my family through this holiday season. It is because of you that my children will receive presents this year. Thank you for making their wants and needs a reality. Thank you for sponsoring families like ours. Although we work hard, we are unable to make ends meet. Merry Christmas and a joyous holiday season.
